Phone: 348-0279 I have had the honor of working for the Washoe County School District for the past 18 years as both a high school teacher and school site administrator. I began my teaching career at McQueen High School before accepting a position teaching Social Studies at Opportunity High School. After five years at Opportunity School, I accepted an administrative position at the newly-opened North Valleys High School where I spent 6 years as a dean and assistant principal with responsibilities for curriculum, student assessment, student attendance and management. I proudly served as the principal of Earl Wooster High School for four years before becoming the Area Superintendent for Zone 3. I am proud of my service to the families of the Washoe County School District. I passionately believe in our community’s vision of graduating all students on time and ready for college and career opportunities. I look forward to working collaboratively with the students, parents, teachers, and support staff of Zone 3!

Phone: 348-0361 Performance Zone Directory An Arizona native, I’ve spent the past 24 years working in public education as a special education teacher, general education teacher, school principal, district level administrator, and project director of a national technical assistance center. In my role as an educational leader, I introduced and implemented multiple initiatives related to curriculum development, professional learning, and systemic change. I received my doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Development from Arizona State University with a focus on leading diverse school communities.
Prior to accepting the role of Area Superintendent for Zone 4, I worked as the director of the Equity Alliance at Arizona State University. In this role, I consulted with school districts in Arizona, California, and Nevada in areas related to educational equity and civil rights. It was in this role that I began my work collaborating with the Washoe County School District to support the district’s focus on culturally responsive teaching, learning, and leadership.
In addition to my work in K-12 education, I’ve also taught graduate and undergraduate courses in bilingual and multicultural special education at Arizona State University, and I currently serve on the advisory board for the federally supported Regional Resource Center Program. I’ve been married to my husband Joe for 25 years, and we have 3 daughters ages 18, 22, and 23. As the Area Superintendent in Zone 4, I am honored to support the school and district communities as we work collaboratively toward the vision outlined in our district’s strategic plan: “Every child, by name and face, to graduation.” |

Phone: 348-0361 I am very pleased to be serving as the Zone 2 Area Superintendent. I began my career in the Washoe County School District 17 years ago. I began as a teacher at Katherine Dunn Elementary School then pursued a path in school administration in which I served as Dean of Students at Anderson Elementary School, Assistant Principal and Principal at Glenn Duncan Elementary School, Principal at Diedrichsen Elementary School and most recently, Principal at Echo Loder World Culture Academy. In addition, I worked as the Title I Coordinator two years, in which I supervised 27 Title I school grants and programs. I look forward to working with the staff, students and families of Zone 2 to ensure every child has a successful academic experience. |
